Ana Macias, BSW
Intervention Case Manager, STRONG University (Nassau) "May your choices reflect your hopes not your fears." -Nelson Mandela Ana was born in Quito, Ecuador. Growing up in the city of Quito, Ecuador was a delightful experience. The people the food and the culture was staggering. However, like many other third world countries there was a reality that could not be overlooked. Despite its many assets, poverty, child labor, and corruption were major challenges facing the people of Ecuador. Growing up conscious of these issues caused Ana to develop a deep concern and longing to do more for those around her at a very young age. In search for better opportunities Ana and her family migrated to the United States when she was 8 years old. The drastic change in culture and environment reinforced Ana’s interest in the field of social services and want to work to impact others in a positive and engaging way. Ana obtained her Associates degree in Social Services from Nassau Community College in 2010 and her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Adelphi University in 2016. Ana joined the STRONG family in December 2017. She is thrilled to part of such spirited and upstanding organization. Ana enjoys yoga, dancing and spending time with her family and her four-year-old daughter. |
