Brittany Baez, BS
Intervention Case Manager, STRONG University (Nassau) "You have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. And you have to do it all the time." - Angela Davis As a Long Island native who had to overcome many obstacles related to socio-economic status and hardships, Brittany is particularly motivated in supporting and assisting youth in becoming successful adults who can make an impact in the world. Brittany graduated from New York University in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology and a minor in Creative Writing and is pursuing her Masters in Social Work at Fordham University. Brittany is an advocate for systemic change in the criminal justice system, education system and all other systems that People Of Color (POC) are disadvantaged from. As someone who is passionate about advocacy, truly wants to help her community, and is dedicated to uplifting those in need, Brittany co-founded an organization called Simplemente Humano. Through this amazing organization she provides informative workshops to the community, hosts community service opportunities and advocates for change. Brittany joined S.T.R.O.N.G Youth in April 2019 as a L.E.A.D.S. (Leaders in Engagement, Advocacy, and Development of Scholars) Specialist at Uniondale High School. She transitioned to a new position as an intervention case manager in June 2020. She's looking forward to working with her S.T.R.O.N.G family in transforming the Long Island community one day at a time. |
